Planting our first seed.

During winter 2019, Brad and I decided to buy a small greenhouse so we could start growing a variety of flowers. What began as just an idea quickly bloomed into a beautiful gift to share with others.

We started all flowers from seed and tried several flowers for the first time, including Snapdragons, Orlaya, Bells of Ireland, Honey Wort, Strawflowers, Blackeyed Susans, Poppies, Forget-Me-Nots, Sweet Peas, Sunflowers, Calendula, Daisies, Alyssum, Catmint, Stock and Lavender. Some were winners and some were less than great. Brad decided to go big and direct-seeded 7 1/2 pounds - yes, pounds - of wild flower seeds (Sunflowers, Zinnias, Coneflowers, Daisies, Alyssum and Bachelor Buttons).

When we’re not planting or tending to our flowers, Lori enjoys watching videos to learn more about new flowers and Brad watches the Marketplace and Craigslist for materials that can be used for projects to enhance the Valley View experience.

We hope you enjoy the beauty of each flower variety and make plans to come visit us often!

A focus on flowers for 2023!

Why give a bouquet when you can create one together?

We think you will enjoy the flowers along with the garden structures, wildlife and the view. Come to Valley View Flowers to stop and smell the roses, hear the birds, sit in the Sweet Pea Shack, watch butterflies and more. Bring someone special with you and make some memories - come and be surrounded by all nature has to offer.
